PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Mark Zuckerberg shared a new photo of daughter Maxima on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old Facebook founder posted the picture on his social media site, writing, "Full of joy with little Max." The sweet snapshot elicited over 3.4 million likes and 29,000 shares.

Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan announced Max's birth Dec. 1, penning an open letter to their daughter, revealing they will donate 99 percent of their Facebook shares to charity in the next decades.

"We believe all lives have equal value," the couple wrote. "Max, we love you and feel a great responsibility to leave the world a better place for you and all children. We wish you a life filled with the same love, hope and joy you give us."

Zuckerberg's plan was met with both praise and criticism, and spawned a hoax this week claiming he would give away $4.5 million to random Facebook users. A company representative shot down the false rumor Wednesday.

The Facebook founder and Chan have been together since 2003, and married in May 2012. The couple revealed Chan had miscarried three times prior to Maxima when they announced they were expecting their daughter in July.
