DUBLIN, Ireland, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- The band U2 announced new dates for the concerts in Paris that were canceled due to the terror attacks, the band's website said Wednesday.

The new dates were made as soon as possible, tour manager Arthur Fogel said, so the band "could honor the commitment to their audience." The new dates include a live performance broadcast on HBO as was initially planned before the attacks.

U2 were scheduled to play the Accorhotels Arena in Bercy on Nov. 14-15 with one of the concerts planned to be shown live on HBO, but the dates came two days after terrorists opened fire and set off suicide bombs that killed 130 people and injured hundreds of others.

U2 will return the Accorhotels Arena on the new dates of Sunday, Dec. 6 and Monday, Dec. 7, the website said.

"So much that was taken from Paris on the tragic night of November 13th is irreplaceable," said lead singer, Bono. "For one night, the killers took lives, took music, took peace of mind - but they couldn't steal the spirit of that city. It's a spirit our band knows well and will try to serve when we return for the postponed shows on December 6th and 7th. We're going to put on our best for Paris."

Tickets for the postponed shows will be honored for the new dates, or refunds are available for fans who can't make the new dates.
