LOS ANGELES, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- David Beckham has been named People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' for 2015.
The announcement was made Tuesday night during Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Beckham's face was revealed behind a blank People magazine cover after audience members tried to narrow down who had been named the 'Sexiest Man Alive.'
"It's the best moment of my career," the soccer star joked to Kimmel. "I can't believe it."
Holding up his trophy complete with a mirror, Beckham also thanked the people in his life responsible for his good looks. "I would honestly like to thank my parents for bringing me into this world," the Calvin Klein and H&M model said. "I want to thank my hairdresser, my stylist..."
People magazine shared the Beckham's 'Sexiest Man Alive' cover on Twitter writing "And People's #sexiestmanalive for 2015 is...David Beckham!"
Speaking with the publication, Beckham mentioned how grateful he was to receive the honor and how his wife Victoria Beckham and family took the news. "I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway!," he said. "But she said, 'Congratulations!'"
"We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed at me and said, 'Really?! Sexiest man alive? Really?'" he continued.
In 2014, Chris Hemsworth was named People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' for 2014.
Beckham last made headlines in September after he gave an emotional speech during the U.N.'s General Assembly where he spoke about improving the lives of children around the world.
