NEW YORK, Nov. 12 (UPI) -- John Oliver and wife Kate Norley recently welcomed their first child. An HBO rep confirmed the 38-year-old English television personality and Norley are proud parents to a son, telling E! News, "John and his wife Kate are parents of a baby boy. Everybody is happy and healthy."

Oliver and Norley, an Iraq War veteran who served as an Army medic, met in 2008, and married in October 2011. The late night talk show host praised his wife for her service in an interview with the New York Daily News on Tuesday.
"I'm incredibly proud of her for everything that she did and has done and is continuing to do and supporting everyone who she has served with," he said. "She went through a lot and I got to hear all the stories what it was like from her. She's one of my heroes."
Oliver came to fame as a comedian, and joined The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in 2006. He played Dr. Ian Duncan on the comedy Community, and has hosted Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on HBO since 2014. The program airs Sundays at 11 p.m. ET.
