LONDON, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- British singer and songwriter Adele revealed the cover art, track list and release date for her highly anticipated album, 25.

Years in the making, the album will become available to the public Nov. 20, her record labels XL Recordings and Columbia Records announced Thursday. The first single from the album, "Hello," and its accompanying music video will drop Friday.

Adele shared the cover art for 25 to her 92,000 Instagram followers Thursday. The simple black-and-white close-up shows the stoic singer in classic makeup staring directly into the camera. "25 out November 20th," she wrote as the caption.

Earlier this week, the British songstress, whose most recent release was the James Bond theme "Skyfall" in 2012, shared the background story on her newest record. Comparing it to her somber 2011 album 21, she said 25 will be a "make-up" album.

"I'm making up with myself," she wrote in a lengthly Facebook post Wednesday. "Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did."

Last Sunday, the first snippet of music from 25 was heard during a brief advertisement between X Factor segments in the United Kingdom. The clip reportedly featured lyrics from "Hello."
