LOS ANGELES, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Khloé Kardashian has released her first official statement regarding Lamar Odom's hospitalization in Las Vegas.

The update was posted on Kardashian's official website Tuesday, a day after the former NBA star was transferred to Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after his condition had significantly improved.

"The past week has been incredibly difficult," Kardashian wrote."I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!"

As previously reported, Odom has been hospitalized since Oct. 13, after he was found unconscious inside a brothel outside of Las Vegas. He was rushed to Sunrise Hospital and was placed on life support where he was reportedly close to death.

As Odom lay in a coma, Kardashian came rushing to his side along with other members of her family. Despite the estranged couple having signed divorce papers back in July, a judgment had not yet been passed, leaving the reality-star in charge of Odom's medical decisions.

Kardashian last made an official statement regarding the matter on Friday, when she asked the brothel's owner Dennis Hof, to refrain from speaking to the press.

"We reached out to Dennis," the statement to Us Weekly read at the time. "Politely asking him to respect Lamar's (and Khloe's) privacy during this difficult time, and refrain from talking to the press. This is a very painful situation, as I know you are aware, and the idea that anyone would use it to seek publicity is really sad."
