Lindsay Lohan announces on Instagram she may run for president in 2020

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan, an actress whose career has been eclipsed in recent years because of her brushes with the law and battle with substance abuse, says she is considering running for U.S. president.

"In #2020 I may run for president. Through ups and downs #YESWECAN lets do this @kanyewest #truespirits thank your for inspiring us to be better people @barackobama #kanyewest2020 #lindsaylohanat35 #lindsaylohan2020 with #34yearsofEXPERIENCE #unitingWORLDnations @aliforneycenter @savethesociety @unicef," the 29-year-old starlet said in an Instagram post Friday.

"The first thing I would like to do as president... is take care of all of the children suffering in the world," she added in a subsequent message. "#queenELIZABETH showed me how by having me in her country."

Rapper Kanye West announced during this summer's MTV Video Music Awards ceremony that he plans to run for the country's highest political office in five years.

Lohan is best known for her roles in Mean Girls, Freaky Friday and The Parent Trap.
