NEW YORK, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Composer and producer Andrew Lloyd Webber has released a music video for "You're in the Band," a number from his upcoming Broadway show School of Rock -- The Musical.

Shot in a real New York City classroom, using innovative, 360-degree technology, the clip accompanies a single produced by Lloyd Webber and Rob Cavallo, which is to be released by Warner Bros. Records.

The YouTube video can be viewed in Chrome or in the YouTube App on an iOS or Android device by either dragging the cursor or a finger across the screen to see the classroom from different angles.

"I am proud that School of Rock is not just the first musical to take this leap into the future, but that this video of 'You're in the Band' is the first time anyone has used the 360-degree medium in this way. It could open a lot of doors," Lloyd Webber said in a statement Wednesday.

"By creating an immersive 360-degree musical number on YouTube, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Julian Fellowes are bringing the magic of Broadway and their new musical to theater fans around the world. We can't wait to see what they come up with next," added Sanjeev Verma, product manager at YouTube.

Based on the hit 2003 movie of the same name, the show is to begin preview performances at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre Nov. 9, with an opening set for Dec. 6. It will feature music from the film, as well as an original score by Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater, book by Julian Fellowes and direction by Laurence Connor.

"School of Rock -- The Musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed wannabe rock star who decides to earn a few extra bucks by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school," a synopsis said. "Completely disinterested in academic work, Dewey decides to create his own curriculum, turning his class into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band."

Jack Black played Dewey in the movie, which was helmed by Richard Linklater.
