WATER MILL, N.Y., Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Sean Avery and Hilary Rhoda tied the knot over the weekend.
The 35-year-old Canadian former NHL player and 28-year-old American model married in an outdoor ceremony at the Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill, N.Y.
Rhoda wore a unique Carolina Herrera gown with a black collar and turquoise panel beneath the bodice. Guest Hilary Adamson shared a photo of herself with the bride and groom on Instagram, writing, "#family #wedding #Southampton #watermill."
Avery and Rhoda met at the former's bar, Warren 77, in 2009, and got engaged in November 2013. "I can say I'm a part of the age-old story -- girl walks into a bar and guy says to his buddy, 'That's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen, and I'm going to marry her,'" Avery told Hamptons magazine in June.
Avery played for the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, Dallas Stars and New York Rangers during his NHL career. Rhoda is best known for her work with Estée Lauder, and has appeared three times in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
