WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Kendall Jenner gives viewers a brief history lesson in the latest promotional video for "Rock The Vote."

The 19-year-old model partnered with the Independent Journal to create the clip, which features a stoic Jenner being styled and then restyled by several behind-the-scenes workers, while her voice narrates the story of suffragettes from the 19th and 20th centuries.

"Every day, we vote. We're able to express our opinions online with links and hashtags," she is heard saying. "But when it comes to the right to vote, it always hasn't been that easy, especially for women."

"Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton started the National Women's Suffrage Association in 1869," Jenner began. "Suffragettes took the fight nationwide, starting state-by-state campaigns pushing for women's rights to vote."

After decades of fighting, she explained, women finally were given the right to vote in elections in August 1920.

"Because of suffraggettes and their battle, gender doesn't matter," Jenner said. "But your vote always can."

At the end of the video, Jenner opens her mouth to speak, saying "I'm Kendall Jenner. I'm 19 and I'm here to rock the vote."

The Independent Journal enlisted Jenner for the "Rock The Vote" campaign to highlight her and her family's enormous influence on social media. Jenner, the outlet explains, has more Instagram followers than that of all the presidential candidates combined. The family, including Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kanye West, Kylie Jenner, Kris Jenner, Rob Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner have, combined, tens times as many Twitter followers as the candidates.

"Politicians might have the bully pulpit, but the Kardashians can reach a wide audience themselves on social media," the outlet said. "It's the perfect election for a family like the Kardashians and Jenners, who haven't been shy sharing their political opinions, to weigh in."
