LAS VEGAS, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Justin Bieber struggled to keep up in a beer-shotgunning contest over the weekend.

The 21-year-old Canadian singer faced off against friend and Shots co-founder Sam Shahidi in Las Vegas on Saturday. Bieber later uploaded a video of the competition to Instagram.

"I lost but I didn't go to college @sammy," he explained of his feeble attempt in the caption.

Bieber and Shahidi were in Sin City to watch the Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto fight. Mayweather, 38, defeated Berto, 32, by unanimous decision, leaving the elder boxer undefeated at 49-0. Mayweather confirmed his retirement following the fight.
