NEW YORK, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Hip-hop titan Kanye West has made a last minute decision to show off his latest collection, Yeezy Season 2 during New York Fashion Week.
The runway event, which will take place on Sept. 16 at noon, will reportedly disrupt other fashion shows due to West's high celebrity status.
Designer Anne Bowen, who planned to launch her new streetwear collection Nomad VII at the exact same time, is frustrated by West's announcement as she scrambles to reschedule.
Bowen spoke to WWD about her feelings regarding the situation. "We have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labor- and commitment-cost to our company. Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks. We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time on the same date as ours."
"Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It's like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this," continued Bowen.
On Friday, Kim Kardashian previewed her husband's new fashion collection on the red carpet during Rihanna's New York Fashion Week block party. The 34-year-old reality star wore a pair of thigh-high boots with a nude-colored Givenchy jacket, top and peplum skirt.
West debuted his first Yeezy collection for Adidas at New York Fashion Week in February. The rapper's daughter, North West, nearly stole the show by throwing a tantrum on the sidelines before the models walked the catwalk.
