TORONTO, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Elizabeth Olsen opened up about rumored beau Tom Hiddleston over the weekend.
The 26-year-old American actress discussed the 34-year-old English actor with MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival. Olsen told the website she and Hiddleston discovered they have a connection years before Avengers: Age of Ultron.
"Tom and I have been wanting to work with each other for a while," she revealed. "We've known each other for about four years, and we met doing a chemistry read for an audition and we were like, 'Oh my God, this would be so much fun if we worked with each other.'"
"The intention is always to check in on each other and measure them in a way and we were like, 'Oh, we'll work really well together,'" she added. "That's fun as an actor to find someone who you have very similar language with. So that was the impulse in 2011."
Olsen and Hiddleston filmed together for Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the actor's scenes were later cut. The pair will co-star as Audrey Sheppard Williams and Hank Williams in new biopic I Saw the Light, and attended the movie's world premiere at TIFF on Friday.
"I mean, we definitely are friends and we've known each other for about four years," the actress said of dating rumors to Refinery 29. "We happened to be at a restaurant at a wrong time having dinner. We all go out to dinner ... No, [we aren't together]. I mean, people can think what they want to think."
I Saw the Light opens in theaters Nov. 27. Olsen will then appear in Captain America: Civil War with Chris Evans, while Hiddleston is slated for Crimson Peak with Mia Wasikowska, Kong: Skull Island with Brie Larson and Thor: Ragnarok with Chris Hemsworth.
