EDINBURGH, Scotland, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- Author J.K. Rowling started a fan frenzy on Twitter Wednesday after she confirmed the correct way to pronounce Voldemort, the name of the main antagonist in the Harry Potter series.

Rowling revealed the little piece of Potter info responding to a fan who tweeted out to her, "One piece of Harry Potter trivia I always forget to mention: the "t" is silent in Voldemort, according to @jk_rowling."

"...but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who pronounces it that way," the Harry Potter creator responded.

As fans chimed in it was discovered that Jim Dale, the narrator of the first two U.S audio books for Harry Potter had been saying Voldemort's name the way Rowling envisioned.

There is meaning behind the silent "t" however. The name Voldemort derives from the french word 'mort,' which is pronounced with a silent "t" and means death.

The Dark Lord himself joined in on the fun as the fan-made Voldemort account tweeted out his response to the discovery simply stating that "Muggles never listen."

This is the second time this month Rowling has caused a stir on social media after she wished James S. Potter good luck at Hogwarts on Twitter referencing an important date in the Harry Potter universe.
