LOS ANGELES, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco thanks yoga, healthy eating and cheat days for her toned body.
Cuoco told Shape magazine she worked extra hard to reach the point she is now, physically speaking. "I've never worked so hard to look good for something in my entire career," she said. "But I didn't starve or kill myself with exercise. I went slowly, and it paid off."
The actress practices yoga five times a week, taking part in classes involving weights and heat at a place called CorePower Yoga. "I owe it 100 percent to yoga," she told the magazine, calling the activity an "amazing calorie burner."
Cuoco, who is married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting, mentioned she used to eat like her athlete husband, which was "so much fun" for a time, until it became a habit. "The drawers next to the bed were filled with candy," she said. "Eventually I realized it was mindless eating. I was just doing it because he was doing it, and it was adding hundreds of calories I didn't even think about. So I cut that out."
Now, she says, there isn't any more "crap" in their home. "No more soda, chips, cereal; we had boxes of stuff that only a 4-year-old would eat." But despite the change in lifestyle, Cuoco still participates in cheat days.
"I have to have a cheat day," she said. "I know when I'm being good all week long that come Sunday, I'm going to lie by the pool, have a drink, and eat some pizza. Then I wake up on Monday morning and I'm all ready to start the week again. I'm just going to be in a bad mood all the time if there's no light at the end of the tunnel."
Cuoco was recently named TV's highest paid actress alongside Modern Family's Sofia Vergara, making around $28.5 million this year. She reportedly makes $1 million an episode for The Big Bang Theory and has a cushy deal with Priceline.com.
