LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Bindi Irwin paid tribute to dad Steve Irwin with a reflective post Sunday on Instagram.
The 17-year-old conservationist shared a photo of the late "Crocodile Hunter" in honor of Australian Father's Day. The holiday came just days after the ninth anniversary of Steve Irwin's death.
"Thinking about home today," she wrote. "Father's Day is today in Australia and everyone is celebrating at Australia Zoo. It's such a special time of year, I hope everyone who comes to the zoo today is able to enjoy it with our gorgeous animals."
"No matter where I am in the world, this day means a lot to me," Irwin, who is currently training for Dancing with the Stars in Los Angeles, shared. "My heart forever lives @AustraliaZoo - just like Dad's always did."

Irwin is the eldest child of Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin, and sister to 11-year-old Robert Irwin. She appeared on the Animal Planet series The Crocodile Hunter Diaries with her dad prior to his death from a stingray barb at age 44 on Sept. 4, 2006.
The teenager has since starred on Bindi the Jungle Girl and Bindi's Bootcamp, and continued her father's conservation work in Australia. She is partnered with Derek Hough on Dancing with the Stars season 21, which will premiere Sept. 14 on ABC.
