LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Police Department conducted a search warrant Thursday on the home of KISS rocker Gene Simmons, officials said, as part of an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation.

Authorities arrived at the singer's Benedict Canyon home Thursday morning to conduct the raid, and officers said the Simmons family were "extremely cooperative."

The LAPD emphasized that neither Simmons or his family are the targets of the investigation, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Investigators did not reveal who was the target of the probe.

"Members of the Los Angeles Police Department visited Mr. And Mrs. Simmons at their home to discuss a crime that may have occurred on their property last year while Mr. Simmons was away on tour with KISS," a representative for Simmons said. "Neither Mr. Simmons nor any member of his family is a person of interest in the investigation and they are cooperating fully with the investigation."

The details of the investigation weren't revealed, either.

A representative for Simmons did say, though, that police spoke to the singer about an incident that occurred on the property last year while the rocker was away on tour.

Simmons co-founded KISS in the 1970s and serves as the band's bass guitarist and co-singer. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year.
