Eagle-eyed viewers see swear word in new promo for Hunger Games sequel

By Doug G. Ware

HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 15 (UPI) -- A new promotional item to mark exactly 100 days until the release of The Hunger Games' newest sequel kind of backfired on the film Friday when some sharp-eyed viewers spotted an unintentional swear word in the graphic.

The image included a close-up shot of Jennifer Lawrence's face with the words, "100 Days Until" -- but some zeroed in on the part written across Lawrence's nose and saw a four-letter curse word.

The film's distributor, Lionsgate, did not comment on the promotional item but it was deleted from the film's official Twitter page Friday, Variety reported.

While some fault the marketers behind the film for what they view as a major gaffe, others believe it is merely a case of people seeing what they want to see.

"Jennifer Lawrence works too hard to put up with this sloppiness, how much money does she need to make for Lionsgate for them to proofread their marketing?" one person commented on Variety's story.

"Some people have way too much time on their hands. What nonsense," remarked another.
