"I got a lot of nice things, [but] I got one sort of negative thing said to me," Mara said of reaction to the close-cropped style. "I texted messaged my dad the other day saying, 'I miss you,' and his response was, 'I miss your hair.'"

Mara herself loves the the haircut, but faced similar skepticism from Steven J. Rickman, aka Southside Steve, of the Rock 100.5 Morning Show on Monday. The actress fielded questions about her look during the interview, which was later called "sexist" by fans.

Mara is the older sister of actress Rooney Mara, and known for playing Hayden McClaine on American Horror Story: Murder House and Zoe Barnes on House of Cards. She will star as Sue Storm, aka Invisible Woman, in Fantastic Four, and also appear in The Martian.
