WASHINGTON, July 16 (UPI) -- Comedian Amy Schumer is on the August cover of GQ magazine, the comedy issue, sporting the famous slave Leia bikini from Star Wars.

In the cover photo, Schumer is wearing the bikini made famous by Carrie Fisher in 1983's Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. The release of the GQ cover comes days before the premiere of Schumer's first film, Trainwreck.

Schumer last month poked fun at women on magazine covers and their highly sexualized poses. On the GQ cover, she is seen with C-3PO's finger in her mouth, and a photo inside the magazine shows her topless, sharing a bed with the C-3PO and R2D2.

Schumer, whose film deals with a woman in control of her own sexuality and the unexpected turn her life faces when she starts falling in love, said in a recent interview with Complex.com that it mirrors her own life and feelings about sex. She hopes to help remove the stigma that sexually active women face and influence people to not judge others so harshly.

Trainwreck is in theaters July 17. The August issue of GQ hits newsstands July 20.
