LOS ANGELES, July 15 (UPI) -- Original cast member Dan Aykroyd will play a cameo role in director Paul Feig's upcoming Ghostbusters remake.

The news comes from an insider on set who revealed to Indie Revolver the 63-year-old actor, who played Dr. Raymond Stantz in Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989), will appear as a cabbie in a scene opposite Kristen Wiig.

Entertainment Weekly and E! have also confirmed his involvement.

In the scene, Indie Revolver reports that Wiig attempts to enter Aykroyd's cab, but fails. At one point, the former SNL actor utters the iconic line "I ain't afraid of no ghosts!" and drives away while Wiig's character passionately corrects his grammar.

Aykroyd later confirmed the cameo himself on Twitter, though he deleted the tweet two hours later. "On GB set shooting my scene with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig Lady GB's are adorable, hilarious and badass Exhilirating! #ghostbusters," the actor wrote, according to EW.

The outlet confirmed his involvement in the film with Aykroyd's reps, although no official confirmation of the reported content of the scene has been made.
