LAKE ELSINORE, Calif., July 14 (UPI) -- Pop singer Ariana Grande has been making headlines for her "I hate America" comment and donut shop incident where security cameras caught the 22-year-old licking several donuts on display while giggling with a friend.

Good news for Grande is the owner of the Wolfee Donuts shop has decided not to press charges.

CNN reports the Lake Elsinore Police Department is still working with the Riverside County Department of Environmental Health to determine if the "potentially contaminated" donuts were "subsequently sold to other customers" on the Fourth of July.

The "Break Free" singer issued a statement apologizing for her statement, saying she should have known better but was frustrated with the lack of conscious eating in America, The Guardian reports.

"I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole," Grande wrote in the statement.

The star also apologized for her indecent behavior in a video entitled "sorry Babes" she uploaded to Youtube.

"Seeing a video of yourself behaving poorly, that you have no idea was taken, is such a rude awakening, that you don't know what to do -- I was so disgusted with myself," she said.

She also mention how she should have stuck to apologizing in her statement rather than scold Americans.

"Not here to make any excuses or justify my behavior, because I can't. ... I'm just here to apologize," Grande continued.
