LOS ANGELES, July 8 (UPI) -- Musician Ringo Starr maintained his birthday tradition, prompting fans to say "peace and love" at noon and promoting the phrase on social media.

This year, the former Beatles band member celebrated his 75th birthday custom outside Capitol Records in Los Angeles, according to Entertainment Tonight. This year's celebration marks 10 years since the star asked for the phrase to go viral every July 7.

"It's getting better every year," Starr said Tuesday. "It's great for me, because I do promote peace and love, and I get lots of support now from you guys."

"It's international now ... Wherever I am on my birthday that's where we do it. And it's growing by the response I get," he continued, according to the Christian Science Monitor.

This year has been a notable one for Starr, who became the last member of the Beatles to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April.
