NEW YORK, July 6 (UPI) -- Sarah Jessica Parker stuns on the cover of Cosmopolitan's August issue and set the record straight about whether she considers herself as a feminist.

The actress tells the magazine she is more than just a feminist because today's problems affect more than just women.

"As [playwright] Wendy Wasserstein would say, I'm a humanist. I'm enormously appreciative of the work that my mother's generation did. We are the beneficiaries of a lot of disappointment, heartache, discouragement, and misunderstanding. But I see a lot of people trying to sort out their roles." the 50-year-old said.

She added: "People of color, gays, lesbians, and transgenders who are carving out this space. I'm not spitting in the face or being lazy about what still needs to be done -- but I don't think it's just women anymore. We would be so enormously powerful if it were a humanist movement."

SJP also cleared the air about another pressing issue that excited fans all over the world. Back in May, the former star of Sex and The City posted a photograph on Instagram that had fans convinced she was hinting that a third SATC film was in the works, but Carrie Bradshaw herself revealed that it just isn't true.

"Oh my god. When I posted that picture and people were in a rage at me, I was shocked. They were convinced I had been taunting them. I'm not that clever!" she said.

The actress also took to Instagram to announce her cover for Cosmo and wrote, "Because one feels certain things might not have been possible without so many of you, I share this image of a really fun day with all the following wonderful, talented, smart and inspiring people to shoot a cover for @cosmopolitan."

The publication followed up with a still from her shoot of the actress dressed in a white suit.

The August issue of Cosmopolitan hits newsstands July 14.
