ANAHEIM, Calif., July 6 (UPI) -- Kris Jenner and Melanie Griffith snapped a selfie with the Dalai Lama on Sunday.

The 59-year-old reality star and 57-year-old actress took a sneaky photo with the Tibetan Buddhist monk in the background. Jenner and Griffith met the world leader at his 80th birthday celebration at the Global Compassion Summit.

"I think @melanie_griffith57 is a little excited to meet His Holiness The Dalai Lama... #turnaroundlookbehindyou #greatmorning #MelanieGriffith," Jenner wrote on Instagram. Griffith added, "I am honored to have sat with His Holiness the Dalai Lama."

The summit was held in recognition of the Dalai Lama's "lifetime of devotion to the work of spreading the message of the value of peace, kindness and universal compassion throughout the world." Tenzin Gyatso is the 14th Dalai Lama, and received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989.

Jenner and Griffith are close friends and vacationed together in Cancun earlier this year. The pair both filed for divorce from their respective spouses, Caitlyn Jenner and Antonio Banderas, in 2014, and have daughters, Dakota Johnson and Kendall Jenner, who are rising stars.
