WASHINGTON, June 30 (UPI) -- Comedian Amy Schumer, 34, revealed why she turned down hosting Comedy Central's The Daily Show, after Jon Stewart's departure.

Schumer who has been on Comedy Central since 2013 and stars on her own sketch comedy series, Inside Amy Schumer, recently explained why she didn't want to take on the anchor desk.

In an interview with the Daily Beast, Schumer said she was honored, but didn't want to make the five-year commitment.

Schumer said she isn't in it for the money and isn't planning to start now.

Back in March, Grantland's Bill Simmons seemed to have a bit of insight when he tweeted if Comedy Central had caught Schumer a year earlier, maybe she would have jumped on board.

The comedian will make her big screen debut in Trainwreck, directed by Judd Apatow. The film hits theaters July 17.
