NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 9 (UPI) -- Shannon Beador has revealed husband David Beador had an affair.
The 50-year-old reality star disclosed as much during a couples retreat on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 10 premiere Monday.
"At the time when it should've been the best year of my life, he started an affair," she said on the Bravo series. "I caught him whispering to this person on the phone and I knew something was wrong."
Beador discovered suspicious hotel receipts, but wasn't sure until David Beador confessed to his infidelity. The reality star explained her decision to reveal such personal information in a blog post following the episode.
"After much counseling and discussions with our children, we thought that we would tell our story with the hope that other couples who have faced similar heartbreak can repair and restore their marriage like David and I are doing," she wrote.
"Some moments can be difficult, but I am focusing on the positive," she shared. "I remind myself of the commitment that David has made to both me and our family. He has not only made himself accountable to me, but to everyone who watches the show."
Beador and David Beador have been married for 14 years, and are parents to 13-year-old daughter Sophie and 10-year-old twin daughters Stella and Adeline. The reality star joined Real Housewives in season 9, and new episodes air Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
