CULVER CITY, Calif., June 8 (UPI) -- Salma Hayek came to embrace being called "hot" as she got older.

The 48-year-old actress said as much to reporters at the 2015 Spike Guys' Choice Awards on Saturday. Hayek was honored with the Decade of Hotness award at the ceremony, which will air June 18 on Spike.

"When you start, you're like, 'No, I want them to see me for my talent, and know me as an actress,'" she said. "Now? They want to give me a decade of hotness -- I'm like, 'Bring it on!' You really like to be 'hot' after you're 40."

Hayek credited husband Francois-Henri Pinault for her continued hotness. She and the 53-year-old Kering CEO welcomed daughter Valentina in 2007, and had two separate weddings in Paris and Venice in 2009.

"You know what makes you hot? When you have the hots for someone," she said. "I have the hots for my husband, and that keeps you [hot] ... When you like somebody it comes out of you, almost naturally, and you're motivated. Love motivates you."

Hayek last appeared with Vincent Cassel in Italian fantasy film Tale of Tales, which debuted at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival in May. The actress is scheduled for an adaptation of the Dalia Sofer novel Septembers of Shiraz and animated movie Sausage Party with Seth Rogen.
