NEW YORK, June 8 (UPI) -- Helen Mirren followed up the Oscar she won for her work in the film The Queen with a Tony Award for playing the same role -- British monarch Elizabeth II -- in the Broadway play The Audience.
Moments later in Sunday's New York ceremony, her co-star Richard McCabe won the Tony for Featured Actor in a Play.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was named Best Play and also earned the honors for Best Actor in a Play for Alex Sharp, Best Direction of a Play for Marianne Elliott, Scenic Design of a Play and Lighting Design of a Play.
Skylight scored the prize for Best Revival of a Play and Annaleigh Ashford won the Tony for Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role in a Play for You Can't Take It with You.
