Parsons and Jackson's appearance will coincide with Anthony Geary leaving the program. The 68-year-old actor has portrayed Luke Spencer for 30 years, but announced his impending departure in May.

Luke is father to Lucky by longtime love Laura Spencer (Genie Francis), and Ethan by Holly Sutton (Emma Samms). Francis last appeared on the show in 2013, and will also return for the farewell episode.

Parsons portrayed Ethan from 2009 to 2012, and made a one-time cameo in 2013. The actor is also known for portraying James Kent in season seven of HBO vampire drama True Blood, and Jackson Kenner on The CW series The Originals.

Jackson played Lucky from 1993 to 1999 and from 2009 to 2011, and won five Emmy awards for his performance. He portrayed Kyle Reese on Fox series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and currently stars as Avery Barkley on ABC musical drama Nashville.
