LOS ANGELES, June 3 (UPI) -- Bobby Flay was honored with a star Tuesday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 50-year-old celebrity chef received the plaque in recognition of his contributions to television. Flay is known for Discovery Channel series Great Chefs, and such Food Network shows as Throwdown! with Bobby Flay and Worst Cooks in America.

"We are thrilled to honor our very first culinary star on our fabled Walk of Fame," Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Leron Gubler said. "Bobby Flay has entertained the masses with his culinary expertise and has opened the eyes of food lovers everywhere."

Unfortunately for Flay, the moment was interrupted when fans noticed a green prop plane flying a "Cheater" banner above the ceremony. While it is unknown if the message was meant for the chef, Flay is rumored to have been unfaithful to wife Stephanie March.

Flay and March separated after 10 years of marriage in March, and reportedly plan to divorce. The chef is accused of cheating with fellow Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis and former assistant Elyse Tirrell, but both Flay and De Laurentiis have denied the allegations.
