TIJUANA, Mexico, June 1 (UPI) -- Enrique Iglesias cut the fingers of his left hand after he grabbed a camera drone at a concert in Tijuana, Mexico on Saturday.

A spokesman for the 40-year-old Spanish singer told People that camera drones are often used for crowd photos. He said Iglesias sometimes grabs the drone during the show to snap a photo of his own.

"Something went wrong and he had an accident," the spokesman said.

Iglesias started bleeding so profusely that he walked off stage and returned 10 minutes later with a bloodied bandage.

Iglesias' publicist later posted a photo of the singer using his own blood to draw a heart on his shirt.

Iglesias performed for another 30 minutes before ending the concert. After the show, he flew to Los Angeles for specialist treatment.
