NEW YORK, May 19 (UPI) -- Actress, comedian and author Amy Poehler's best-selling memoir, Yes Please, will go on sale on vinyl in September, and it won't be just any old disc.
As an attempt to build on millennials' budding interest in vinyl and other things manual, Harper Collins will sell a recorded version of Yes Please featuring the voices of Poehler, Carol Burnett, Mike Schur and Kathleen Turner. The record will feature seven highlights from the full-length audiobook, which customers will receive for free along with their purchase via digital download.
It will also include a segment of the Poehler reading her book in front of a live audience.
"It's got a hot-pink disk. It's got a really nice photo montage in the sleeve," HarperAudio publisher Ana Maria Allessi told NPR. "The book as object, the LP as object, that's a lot of what you see happening in the physical world, in the physical offering. So if we were going to do it, we were going to have some fun with it."
