LOS ANGELES, May 1 (UPI) -- Just because Idina Menzel lended her vocals to Frozen doesn't mean the movie has any effect on her personal life choices. So let it go.

The Tony award-winning actress went on Good Day L.A. on Friday and set the record straight about her new blonde locks.

"They say I did it because I was inspired by my Elsa character, which I found very insulting. That I would wake up one day and want to be blond, so I could look like an animated character...I just never, ever do anything with my hair and I finished my Broadway show. Eight shows a week, same thing."

"I look just like her! Oh Elsa, thank you so much. We're exactly the same aren't we? Those skinny balletic arms and that tiny waist." she continued as she pointed to video of her character.

Menzel dyed her hair in March and debuted the new color on her Instagram account.

Look what me and my girl @jtfranchuk did today. Needed a change. Loving it! #brunettetoblonde #blondehairdontcare

The 43-year-old, with blonde locks and all, visited the Late Late Show Thursday night and with the help of host James Corden sang "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing.
