LOS ANGELES, April 30 (UPI) -- Melissa Joan Hart is pleased with her 40-pound weight loss.
The 39-year-old actress reflected on her slim down in an interview with E! following the debut of her Nutrisystem commercial. Hart started the weight loss program two years ago, and said shedding the pounds has been a great confidence builder.
"It's never easy when you put on the weight and you're just uncomfortable," she confessed of her 60-pound pregnancy weight gain. "Being able to take off layers or put on a size jean that's a size smaller is so refreshing and it just makes it easier to move through life."
"It just made me happier," she shared. "It made me feel physically and emotionally lighter to be able to do the things I wanna do, to be able to wear the clothes I wanna wear, to be able to feel sexy around my husband again. I'm very proud of myself."
Hart and husband Mark Wilkerson married in July 2003, and have three sons together: 9-year-old Mason, 7-year-old Brady and 2-year-old Tucker. The actress said her weight loss has given her the energy to be more active with her children.
