Sam Smith cancels Australian shows due to vocal cord hemorrhage

SYDNEY, April 28 (UPI) -- Sam Smith is forced to cancel his remaining Australian tour dates in his In the Lonely Hour tour due to a vocal cord hemorrhage.

The Grammy-winning artist broke the news via Instagram, telling fans: "I am deeply, deeply, saddened to tell my Australian fans, I have to cancel my Australian tour," the 'Latch' singer continued, "I have been vocally exhausted for a while now however last night in Sydney I had a small hemorrhage on my vocal chords."

Just yesterday, Smith posted a video of him getting an anchor tattoo which he dedicated to his fans that he calls "little sailors."
