NEW YORK, April 23 (UPI) -- In honor of Earth Day, Jimmy Fallon and Russell Crowe performed an ode to the BP oil spill called "Balls in Your Mouth."

The Tonight Show host sang the song to remind everyone about the oil spill that happened April 22, 2010. The Gladiator actor then chimed in to help the host bring awareness about the lingering side effects since the event occurred, like tar balls.

"Gosh darn it, those tar balls are still washing up in the shores...despite the fact that five years ago I wrote a protest song railing against that very thing," said Fallon. "Apparently BP still didn't get the message. Maybe it's the song's fault...Maybe I just let everyone down."

After some audience encouragement the host began to sing: "The oil spill by BP has left tar balls all over the sea/ So don't go swimming down in the South unless you want tar balls in your mouth."

"I think it really gets to the heart of the matter. It really does. I think BP should come here and get on their knees right in front of you!" said after hearing the first verse of the song. He continued, "The thing about your song, Jimmy, I can feel it! I can feel it!"

Of course a second guitar was on hand for Crowe to chime in. The two continued singing "Balls In Your Mouth" and went into the audience to rock out with them.

Crowe, who stars in and directed The Water Diviner, out April 24, told Fallon about his unfortunate experience at one of his first jobs that included a brand new BMW and a car wash.
