TAURANGA, New Zealand, April 21 (UPI) -- AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has pleaded guilty to charges of threatening to kill and possession of illegal drugs in a New Zealand court on Tuesday.
Rudd, 60, admitted to possessing methamphetamine and cannabis as well as threatening the murder of his personal assistant according to CNN. In New Zealand, the maximum penalty for threatening to kill is seven years in jail.
Court has been adjourned until June 26, One News reports. According to Rudd's lawyer, Craig Tuck, charges were essentially due to "just an angry phone call." He intends to apply for a discharge without conviction for Rudd.
Although estranged band member Phil Rudd is still officially listed as AC/DC's drummer, the legendary rock band is currently on a world tour with former drummer Chris Slade.
