ARLINGTON, Texas, April 20 (UPI) -- Kelly Clarkson has nothing but praise for mother-in-law Reba McEntire. The 32-year-old singer shared her love for the 60-year-old country music star at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday.

"I never could have imagined when I as at the ACMs nine years ago, and I yelled backstage to Reba, 'I want to be you when I grow up,' that one day, we would not only become friends ... but in the most crazy twist of fate, she would become my family," Clarkson related.
"So basically what I'm saying here, people, is that I have the coolest mother-in-law, and you all can suck it!" she added before presenting McEntire with the annual award show's Milestone Award.
McEntire is stepmother to Brandon Blackstock, whom Clarkson married in October 2013. The country music star also had good things to say about her daughter-in-law while speaking to reporters backstage at the ceremony.
"Kelly and I have known each other since 2002," she shared. "We became fast buddies, we went on vacations together and then her and Brandon met and fell in love and got married, so now she's my daughter-in-law. Really fun to hang out with her."
Clarkson and Blackstock welcomed their first child, daughter River Rose, in June 2014. McEntire revealed the infant started warming up to her on Christmas, recalling, "I held her and started feeding her. She looked at the bottle, looked at me and smiled. We've been friends ever since."
