NEW YORK, April 14 (UPI) -- Gloria Estefan musical On Your Feet has cast its stars. Ana Villafane will portray the famed Cuban-American singer in the upcoming Broadway production, with Josh Segarra as Estefan's musical collaborator and eventual husband, Emilio Estefan.

Villafane hails from Miami, and attended the same high school as Estefan. The actress appeared in coming-of-age film Magic City Memoirs and PIC.tv series Los Americans, while Segarra had on-stage roles in Dogfight and Lysistrata Jones.
"She walked into the room and I immediately thought to myself -- 'this is it,'" director Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots) said of Villfane in a statement. "Not only was she beautifully reminiscent of a young Gloria, but she embodied her energy and spirit in such a captivating way."
On Your Feet will feature songs in English and Spanish, and members of Emilio Estefan's original band, The Miami Sound Machine, in the orchestra. The musical will follow Estefan's life and career, including her early years in Miami and difficult recovery from a near-fatal car accident in 1990.
