'Law & Order: SVU' takes a shot at anti-vaxxers

NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) -- Law & Order: SVU took a shot at anti-vaxxers in its last episode with a main guest star that looked suspiciously like anti-vaccination face Jenny McCarthy.

The episode starred Missi Pyle who played a mother who faked her son's immunization records and encouraged other mothers to do the same because she believes vaccines lead to autism. The group of kids from the school where Pyle's character's son went came down with the measles.

Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) then has the case get personal when her son gets measles after sitting in the waiting room of the doctor where the kids go.

They eventually charged her with reckless endangerment, conspiracy and falsifying business records.

Benson's son was still in the hospital, but was likely to recover.
