Kim Kardashian lands in Armenia for first time visit

YEREVAN, Armenia, April 9 (UPI) -- Kim Kardashian is keeping up with her family roots. The reality star, her sister Khloe, husband Kanye and daughter North West all arrived in Armenia this Tuesday for their first visit to the country.

The Armenian's greeted the famous family with a warm welcome at the airport as they arrived to the capital city of Yerevan. Kim couldn't help but share her excitement on social media.

Kim posted a picture of the large crowd on Instagram and captioned: " Armenia we are here!!!!! We are so grateful to be here & start this journey of a lifetime! Thank you to everyone who greeted us! I can't wait to explore our country and have some yummy food! #MyDadAndGrandParentsWouldBeSoProud"

A trip to visit the land of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars' ancestors has been in the works for quite some time, a source close to the family told People magazine. "It's their first time and everyone is so excited!"

Kim posted another photo since arriving to the country, this one of Kanye and North with the caption,"My husband and daughter came to Armenia as well to see my heritage and learn about my ancestors! My cousins came along too! So excited I can't sleep."

E! Online reported that Kourtney Kardashian, Mason, Penelope and Regin Disick are also expected to make the the trip to Armenia.
