LONDON, April 2 (UPI) -- Benedict Cumberbatch was recently replicated in chocolate.

UKTV created a life-size edible statue of the 38-year-old actor to celebrate the launch of its on-demand service. Cumberbatch was chosen after beating out David Tennant, Sean Bean and Damian Lewis in the broadcaster's poll for "Britain's Dishiest Dramatic Actor."

"The striking thing about Benedict is he's got quite a thin face, but quite a large head, so trying to get that look right is quite tricky," chocolate sculptor Tim Simpson shared.

The project required 500 bars of melted Belgian chocolate and took 250 hours to complete. The final, hollow creation weighs in at 88 pounds, and was assembled piece-by-piece after pouring molten chocolate into individual molds.

"Chocobatch" will be displayed at Westfield Stratford City in London on Friday, April 3. Cumberbatch last appeared as Alan Turig in The Imitation Game, and is scheduled for Black Mass with Johnny Depp, Flying Horse with Amanda Seyfried and Marvel film Doctor Strange.
