Katy Perry and John Mayer split for a third time: Report

Sources maintain Mayer was jealous of Perry's blossoming career because he "does not have anything major going on with his" own at the moment.

LOS ANGELES, March 20 (UPI) -- Singers Katy Perry and John Mayer have reportedly ended their relationship for a third time.

Radar Online broke the news about the split Wednesday, claiming the couple's swift reconciliation was mostly "about convenience."

"Katy and John reconnected once she had a break in her Prismatic World Tour. So, for those few months they had a great time, pretending that it would last -- and of course it didn't," said an insider.

Other sources maintain Mayer was jealous of Perry's blossoming career because he "does not have anything major going on with his" own at the moment.

Perry, 30, and Mayer, 37, sparked reconciliations rumors in January after they reunited at a friends's dinner party almost a year after they broke up for the second time.
