LOS ANGELES, March 13 (UPI) -- Eva Mendes joined Instagram on Thursday. The 41-year-old actress promised to use the site to keep fans updated on her clothing line for New York & Company and cosmetics collection for CIRCA Beauty, and shared a throwback photo as her first post.

"I thought this picture might be a good way to start," she captioned a snapshot of herself as a little girl. "38 years later and still holding strong on the head wrap comeback. x."
Mendes and actor Ryan Gosling welcomed their first child, daughter Esmeralda, in September 2014. The actress recently discussed motherhood with Women's Health, and said she is "actually enjoying the sleepless nights because it's bonding with my little girl."
Mendes and Gosling met on the set of Derek Cianfrance film Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, and started dating shortly after. The actress last appeared with Mad Men star Christina Hendricks in Gosling's directorial debut, Lost River.
