Karina Smirnoff ends engagement to Jason Adelman

LOS ANGELES, March 12 (UPI) -- Dancing with the Stars alum Karina Smirnoff has ended her engagement to actor Jason Adelman.

People magazine reported the split Wednesday night, but gave no reason for it.

The professional dancer confirmed in January she had accepted a marriage proposal from Adelman after dating him for less than a year.

This is Smirnoff's third broken engagement. She was previously betrothed to baseball player Brad Penny and dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
