Demi Lovato rushed to the hospital over lung infection

Lovato's rep says the singer has returned home and is feeling "much better."

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- Singer Demi Lovato was hospitalized this week with a lung infection.

Sources told TMZ the 22-year-old star was rushed to Providence Tarzana Medical Center Tuesday after it became difficult for her to breath.

Gossip Cop claims Lovato underwent severals tests before doctors determined she had a bacterial infection. As of Tuesday afternoon, she was allegedly still at the hospital.

Lovato's rep told USA Today on Wednesday she "returned home soon after her ER visit and is feeling much better today."

The singer is currently in the midsts of recording her fifth studio album. TMZ claims she had to cancel a scheduled meeting with a producer on Tuesday because of her trip to the hospital.
