Rita Ora makes Oscar debut with powerful 'Grateful' performance

The track was written by Diane Warren and was nominated for Best Original Song.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- British singer Rita Ora made her Oscar debut Sunday performing "Grateful" from the film Beyond the Lights at the Dolby Theatre stage.

The track was written by Diane Warren and was nominated for Best Original Song. It lost the honor to Common and John Legend who took home the golden statue for "Glory" the human rights anthem they wrote for Selma.

Ora performed "Grateful" standing in a platform in a black and white gown with lights glaring all around her.

Other musical numbers featured Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson, Tim McGraw, Adam Levine, Common, John Legend, and Tegan and Sara.
