Lupita Nyong'o stuns in pearl-covered gown at 2015 Oscars

The actress was on hand to present an award for Best Supporting Actor at the ceremony.

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Lupita Nyong'o stunned at the 87th Academy Awards on Sunday.

The 31-year-old actress turned heads in a custom Calvin Klein gown covered in over 6,000 pearls. The dress featured cutouts at the chest and mid-back, and the star accessorized with Chopard jewelry and Nicholas Kirkwood platform heels.

Nyong'o was not nominated for any awards, but presented J.K. Simmons with Best Supporting Actor for Whiplash. The actress was accompanied by brother Peter Nyong'o to the Oscar ceremony, and the siblings both took to Instagram to share photos from the event.

Nyong'o previously won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Patsey in 12 Years a Slave. The actress will appear in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, and is scheduled for Queen of Katwe and a voice role in The Jungle Book.
