LOS ANGELES, Feb. 16 (UPI) --Johnny Depp will play alongside rock legend Alice Cooper and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry as the supergroup Hollywood Vampires at an upcoming music festival in Rio de Janeiro.
Cooper announced in an Instagram post over the weekend that the band would play several nights at the Rock in Rio festival this September.

"Confirmed! #RockInRio announces Debut Of #TheHollywoodVampires! The #Supergroup, featuring #AliceCooper, #JohnnyDepp and #JoePerry plays on the same night as #QueensOfTheStoneAge and #SystemOfADown," Cooper wrote.
Depp told reporters last month that he is "sickened" by actors who use their fame to become musicians.
"I've been very lucky to play on friends' records and it's still going. Music is still part of my life," he said at the time. "But you won't be hearing The Johnny Depp Band. That won't ever exist."
